As you can see from the screen shot of our 9/29/14 online forum, Immigration in America, our five participants favored actions gathered under the option, Welcoming New Arrivals, in the issue guide prepared by the National Issues Forum. Take a close look at the lower left, though, and you will see some changes in the top 5 actions initially chosen by the participants, and those they favored after deliberation. An emphasis on employer accountability emerged during the forum, while initial priorities regarding refugees and strengthening the naturalization process receded. In discussion at the end of the forum it emerged that the emphasis on refugee relief slipped because the topic was skipped over; overall, the forum's participants were in favor of steps to welcome new immigrants.
Our next forum will be Monday October 20 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm Eastern time, and the topic will be America's Future -- What Should Our Budget Priorities Be? Registration is open -- just complete the online registration form above or at this link.
